Midnight Seas 88x29" Wall Sculpture

Breaking from a traditional rectangular canvas, this abstracted wave flows across the wall. Inspired by gentle waves on the ocean, this piece is a mixture of ocean blues and a cool dark sky. Shimmering silver, metallics and holographic pigments are used as accents throughout the piece as reflections of moonlight and stars. The combination of colors and shape creates a composition that evokes calm and wonder.

I cut and sand each piece of wood before prepping with a white latex base topped with spray paint. After the cutting and prepping process, I paint each piece using alcohol ink, rubbing alcohol and a hairdryer to move and manipulate the ink. Accents and metallic pigments are added before sealing with varnish. This wall sculpture is attached with hanging hardware on each piece and comes with a hanging guide.
